We Started Ruth's Guiness World Record Attempt: Day 3
Today we started Ruth's Guinness World Record attempt to be the oldest person to visit the most Presidential Libraries, Homes, and Museums. We went to President Jame Knox Polk Home and Museum in Columbia, Tennessee.
James Knox Polk was the 11th President of the US and he served from 1845 - 1849. He was nicknamed Napoleon of the Stump, because of his superb speaking skills and Young Hickory because he was the youngest president elected.
Then we toured the house Polk lived in for seven years with his parents, until he got married.
He acquired over a million square miles of land. He acquired Texas from Mexico and through a war with Mexico, New Mexico and Arizona.
He died from cholera, only 3 months out of office. His wife Sarah wore black for the next 42 years until she died.
