The New Golden Girls

 In October 2024, Blair moved in with Sherry and her husband. Blair, who is in the 3rd grade, is enjoying school, which is conveniently located just across the street from our house.  It snowed an inch in January.  Blair made the best out of the small amount of snow and made a snow angel and threw snowballs. The following month, after the passing of Sherry’s father and father-in-law, both her mother and mother-in-law also joined the household.  Mary Ruth continues to relish her card games with friends and cherishes the company of her new housemates. Mary Ruth has painted rocks, plays school and babies, and made Valentine holder with Blair.  We celebrating her 83rd birthday on New Year's Day. Just before Christmas, Ruth moved in, and our home began to adapt to this new norm.  The changes have brought about a positive shift for Ruth. Indianapolis, Indiana: Day 14

  On the way to Indianapolis, Indiana, we stopped by the Shrum Mound at Campbell Park.    We stopped at the Warm Glow Candle Outlet, too.    When we got to Indianapolis, we went to Benjamin Harrison’s house.   It was our seventh Presidential Site we visited.  Benjamin Harrison was the 23rd president.  He was the grandson of the 9th president, William Henry Harrison.   We thought we were going to his grandfather’s house  and didn't realize we were at the wrong one, until the tour started.  Mary Ruth kept saying that they called him Benjamin instead of William.  We are lucky we are able find our way around all these states.   Ruth's favorite things in the house were this desk and the white door handle.  The desk reminds her of her mailbox in the San Juan, Texas, Post Office.  The door knob reminded her of the knobs in her grandmother's house.
