Noah's Ark: Day 9

 We went to another place on Mary Ruth's Bucket List, the  replica of Noah’s  Ark.  Ruth couldn't believe how big the ark was.  It was informative and interesting.

Earlier in the week we went to Ramsay's Diner.   Ruth had beans & cornbread and we had chicken fried steak. We had to ask what was in the small container because it looked like weird mayo. 
It was gravy but lumpy and thick like oatmeal.  When we got back from the Ark, we ordered Door Dash from Ramsay’s Diner and had a hot brown (we think it was turkey, ham, lumpy gravy and cheese over it with bacon strips on top) and fried bologna sandwich. The bologna sandwich was the best.  After we ate, Mary Ruth expressed her disbelief that Gordon Ramsay would make this kind of food.  I didn't realize that she thought this diner was owned by him.

 In October 2024, Blair moved in with Sherry and her husband. Blair, who is in the 3rd grade, is enjoying school, which is conveniently located just across the street from our house.  It snowed an inch in January.  Blair made the best out of the small amount of snow and made a snow angel and threw snowballs. The following month, after the passing of Sherry’s father and father-in-law, both her mother and mother-in-law also joined the household.  Mary Ruth continues to relish her card games with friends and cherishes the company of her new housemates. Mary Ruth has painted rocks, plays school and babies, and made Valentine holder with Blair.  We celebrating her 83rd birthday on New Year's Day. Ruth Meets Her First Celebrity: Day 4

One of Ruth's Bucket List Items was to meet a celebrity.  Cue the most generous, sincere, and gracious  celebrity-Amy Grant.  I can't tell you how grateful I was to take a three generation picture with Amy Grant.  According to my mom, she had to listen over and over and over and over again to Amy Grant songs.   When Amy met Ruth, she bent down next to her face and talked to her.  Ruth was impressed with her genuineness, approachability, and friendliness.  Ruth described her as down to earth and not haughty like she thought a celebrity would be.   Ruth was looking for the young girl she remembered, but she thought Amy was even more beautiful than she remembered. Ruth gave Sherry this album. Thank you to Amy Grant , Jennifer Cooke, and Derek Spirk for helping our dreams come true.
